Brest regional territorial fund of state property (fund “Brestoblimushchestvo”) forms a part of the system of the State Property Committee of the Republic of Belarus and functions in the sphere of management, disposal, privatisation and accounting of property owned by the Republic of Belarus on the territory of Brest region, and a part of Brest regional executive committee – on the issues of management, disposal, privatisation and accounting of property which is in the ownership of Brest region.

The main task of “Brestoblimushchestvo” is fulfillment of measures for implementation of the national policy on the issues of property relations (including management, disposal, privatisation and accounting of property which is in public ownership) with the exception of relations in the sphere of use and protection of land, subsoil, other natural resources, accommodation and other property determined by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.

The main functions of the Fund are:

• control over transactions of alienation, mortgage of buildings, installations, nonresidential premises, incompleted construction projects, which are in republican and regional municipal ownership;
• arrangement and holding of competitions and auctions for sale of projects belonging to the state as well as share packages of Public Joint Stock Companies belonging to the state;
• implementation of the unified policy of property relations on the issues of lease and free use of buildings, installations and nonresidential premises;
• accounting of state property on the balance of the state legal entities of Brest region, registration of state property in the Property Register;
• issue of Certificates of registration of state property in the Property Register;
• coordination of work on transformation of state organizations into public joint-stock companies.
