Public joint-stock company «Pruzhany Dairy Plant» is situated to the west of the Republic of Belarus, 10 km away from the city of Brest. The production capacity of the plant is:
Butter – 4,5 tons per shift;
Cheese – 2,2 tons per shift;
Dairy produce – 6,2 tons per shift;
Dry nonfat milk – 2,2 tons per shift.
In 1997 the project of the reconstruction was adopted and the construction of a new production sector with the output capacity 230 tons of milk, 25 tons of whole dairy produce and 5 tons of butter production per shift began. Presently, the built sectors are being equipped with modern technological devices.
In 1995 the plant began the production of a nonconventional produce for a dairy plant – rectificator alcohol from milk whey according to a technology worked out by the Republican Scientific Institute of Dairy Industry.
Rectificator alcohol got positive evaluation of the State Tasting Committee by State Food Industry of the Republic of Belarus and is used in wine production. The output capacity of this produce is 1,35 tons of alcohol per 24 hours. In the near future they plan to put into production fruit and vegetable juices.
The main production of the plant is solid cheese production. The main kinds of cheeses are «Rossiyskiy 50%». Cheese-making production is equipped with modern technological equipment «Bave», which consists of cheese-making basins, perforated cheese forms, press-machines, washing machine for perforated forms.
Pruzhany Dairy Plant became a JSC in 1995. The government owns 9,3% of the shares, the other share-holders are material supplier companies and physical persons. The staff of the plant totals 340 people.
